A brief series of personal anecdotes describing my life with ADHD, and how the power of attitude and perception dictate our development in life.
I’m a 16 year-old boy who enjoys political debates when I’m not incessantly talking to myself (I’m what my mother calls an “external processor”). I am a junior attending Jesuit High School in Beaverton, Oregon despite living in Brush Prairie, Washington (it’s roughly a marathon in length, if I weren’t her son I’d be the bane of my mother’s existence). I have an older sister named Courtney, who is currently working towards her PhD (I’m absolutely thrilled at the prospect of living up to that expectation). When I’m not dozing off in Chemistry class or distracting my friends, I enjoy golfing at my local course, Royal Oaks.

Abhay's idea revolves around videogames being a form of art and how it improves our lives. Games aren't just for entertainment, but they can also help us to live morally. There are many ways you can perceive a game, and how it might affect your life. Story telling is an art form that expands our imagination and shows us another side of the coin. Videogames can also improve cognitive skills and help ADHD children.
Abhay explains the art of videogames. Videogames are often underrated. This is to show that videogames can be considered art. His goal is to demonstrate how videogames can positively impact our lives.

In current society, people with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) tend to struggle if not suffer. Despite this, rather than a disorder, ADHD should be thought of as a particular neuro-cognitive profile; that is, a characteristic brain format that results in a different way of literally thinking. With so many people diagnosed with ADHD – and so many more undiagnosed — we must ask, where does ADHD come from and is it truly a problem in and of itself?
Salif shares a current hypothesis about ADHD’s root and an alternative perspective – including several benefits of the condition – regarding how we engage with it in our schools, homes and selves.

BMC Evolutionary Biology, 8, 173-184.
Salif is currently a doctoral student in the Experimental and Applied Psychological Program at USU. On a day-to-day basis he manages Dr. Kerry Jordan’s Multisensory Cognition Lab. His research investigates cognitive and neurophysiological outcomes of exposure to, and immersion in, natural environments. Salif loves long walks in the mountains, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and planning his future homestead. Most of all, he loves having no idea whatsoever as to how to parent his two-year-old son, but trying anyway.

I always noticed that I was different; I was academically successful, but I still had trouble focusing and interacting with others, and it took a toll on me. After getting diagnosed, I realized that I had ADHD. I was not sure if it made my life easier, as my family wasn’t aware of my condition. It was something I was ashamed of because I knew people would not sympathize and react negatively to it. They had different opinions. But I learned that I shouldn’t be ashamed. It’s okay for me to be different, and I want that to be shared with neurotypical and neurodiverse people to change their views on mental health. Panic attacks can be scary, especially in the moment that you realize that you're having one and that it's going to get worse before it gets better. A panic attack can be overcome. These next few minutes are all you need to enjoy.
This video will show you how. Distraction is a classic coping strategy for a reason. Focusing on the objects around you and breathing exercises can help reduce fear while you wait for the attack's end. These techniques can be learned in this video. If you are having panic attacks right now, you can also use the distraction of the video.
However, it is not meant to replace proper mental health care. It's possible to experience a panic attack without any particular reason. However, panic attacks often occur as part of an anxiety disorder. If you feel the panic attacks are getting worse, consult a therapist, or your doctor.

My Talk is about my story overcoming my ADHD in the school system and day to day life. I want not only to help others with ADHD but to also inform people, parents and teachers without ADHD about what might be going through their friends, kids, and students heads.
