ABOUT THE SERIES:
Depression in children looks completely different than it does in adults – and it leads to complex mental health problems later in life. The good news is that with the education that this series provides, it can be properly treated, managed, and even prevented. Psychiatrist Dr. Domenick Sportelli kicks off this 6-episode series by explaining what constitutes depression in children: when does a “bad temper” or agitation in your child signal actual clinical depression? Dr. Dom then dives into the causes: is depression in children caused by genetics, parenting styles, the environment, or something else? He breaks down the 8 major signs of depression in children you need to know, crucial support strategies that parents should use during the screening process for childhood depression, and how to navigate the tricky road of finding the right depression treatment for your child. He even enlightens parents on some of the latest cutting-edge research on depression treatments for children. Dr. Dom ends the series with the tried-and-true crucial strategies for preventing depression relapse in your child. These strategies will ensure that you’re setting your child up for successful maintenance of their mental wellness as they grow older. This is your parenting toolbox for tackling depression in children early.

🎤 Lyrics: Lost Kings - Me Myself & Adderall ft. Goody Grace

[Verse 1]
Call you but I don't know what to say
It doesn't matter 'cause I threw it all away
Know I'm the worst because I cause you all this pain
What's the point of hearts if all they do is break?

[Pre-Chorus]
No, I'm not gonna sleep tonight
No, I'm not gonna breathe tonight
No, it's not gonna be alright

[Chorus]
Excuse me, while I fall apart
Yeah, I deserve this broken heart
Your friends were right about me all along
Know you won't, but hope you call
'Cause ever since you cut me off
Me, myself and Adderall is all I got, all that I got is

[Verse 2]
Tiny liquor bottles in a row
I'm seven down and I got seven more to go
I see you out in all the places that we used to go
I see you turning into someone that I used to know

[Pre-Chorus]
No, I'm not gonna sleep tonight
No, I'm not gonna breathe tonight
No, it's not gonna be alright

[Chorus]
Excuse me, while I fall apart
Yeah, I deserve this broken heart
Your friends were right about me all along
Know you won't, but hope you call
'Cause ever since you cut me off
Me, myself and Adderall is all I got, all that I got is

[Outro]

Medications are an important part of the treatment toolkit for many patients with ADHD. They may not work for all people, have side effects, or are not an option for those with comorbid conditions. A holistic treatment plan for ADHD is needed for each child. It must address the symptoms and take into consideration the child's interactions with their family, friends, and school. A comprehensive treatment plan should include a variety of important interventions that can be used with or without medication to help your child succeed.

Sandy Newmark, M.D. explains how ADHD Experts can help children with ADHD.
