I have supported children with special educational needs and disabilities in both primary and secondary environments. After seeing firsthand the difficulties that ADHD children face in school, I believed that we could do more.

Some of the practices that are being used in schools today may actually be hindering our efforts to support these kids. We must stop relying on punishment and praise. We can help ADHD youth develop the resilience and skills necessary to face everyday challenges by encouraging curiosity and flexibility. Abhay's idea revolves around videogames being a form of art and how it improves our lives. Games aren't just for entertainment, but they can also help us to live morally. There are many ways you can perceive a game, and how it might affect your life. Story telling is an art form that expands our imagination and shows us another side of the coin. Videogames can also improve cognitive skills and help ADHD children.

Abhay explains the art of videogames. Videogames are often underrated. This is to show that videogames can be considered art. His goal is to demonstrate how videogames can positively impact our lives.

Faces of ADHD | John (JB) German | TEDxValenciaHighSchool

featured image

Ever felt like school wasn’t built for your brain? To be 1 in 3 kids with ADHD, means there’s a lot of us that need a better education. John German discusses ADHD and the challenges it presents in a society that places such a heavy emphasis on performance in the classroom.

John is a senior at Valencia high school. His first play was The Diary of Anne Frank, where he played Mr. Dussel, a sullen dentist. The second, Twelfth Night, featured him as a priest and a captain. He has directed two scenes in DTASC (a drama contest), both of which reached the finals. He is currently working on his third scene. As a spotlight, he worked behind the scenes at last year’s Spring Musical The th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He is a professional thespian with a passion for all things theatrical. As a hobby, he enjoys drawing and painting when he’s stressed. He is not the first or last person to take to the stage, but he hopes to share his thoughts with you through a Ted Talk that will change your perception of something close to you. He is thankful for all the support he has received from his girlfriend, family, and friends. He hopes that you will be excited about the TEDx event.

Please note I am not a medical professional. Research on the effects of medication on sleep and the Circadian rhythm in ADHD patients. Tips start at 6: 35. There are many ways to increase the chances of getting a good night's sleep, even if you have an active mind. I have experienced insomnia due to ADHD, particularly as a side effect of medication.

Hidden anxiety is not actually a clinical term. Hidden anxiety refers to anxiety symptoms that are not covered in the DSM. This video is intended to bring attention to less obvious signs of anxiety people might not be aware of. These symptoms may be experienced by anyone, regardless of whether they have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Are you a friend of someone who is experiencing symptoms of anxiety that are difficult to identify?

Disclaimer: This video is not intended to diagnose you or anyone else. A professional diagnosis is required in order to receive the best possible treatment. However, you can use this video to help explain your symptoms to your doctor.

According to the American Psychological Association 2017, people suffering from anxiety are prone to a future-oriented fear that leads them to avoid situations that might trigger a stress response. In 2017, the National Institute of Mental Health reported that approximately 40 million people worldwide suffer from anxiety.

Anxiety disorders are highly treatable, but recent surveys show that only 36.9% of those suffering from it seek treatment. People with anxiety may worry about being judged by others or how stigmatizing mental illness could negatively impact their lives.
