Prior to that she was business systems analyst for Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles. Dana is a magna cum laude graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills with a degree in business administration. She lives with her husband, daughter and dogs in the beautiful Rogue River Valley in Southern Oregon. She enjoys hiking, singing, cross country skiing and reading.

Children with social anxiety disorder are often characterized by the inability to make friends and answer questions in class. These children are often seen as introverted and shy.

Separation anxiety can manifest in children as excessive crying, anger, and a feeling that they are homesick when they are far from their parents. It is also accompanied by an uncontrollable fear.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a condition that occurs when children have suffered a traumatic event such as the death of a parent. It can cause symptoms like irritability and a refusal to visit certain places or talk to certain people.

Children suffering from phobias may experience tantrums, headaches, and crying. As an irrational fear, these children will avoid certain situations.

Children with selective mutism will find it difficult to find their voices when they are in stressful situations.

Children suffering from panic disorder may experience increased heart rate, nausea, dizziness and fear. Panic disorders are when a child experiences more than two panic attacks at once.
