13 Things People Don't Realize You Do Because of Your Anxiety

featured image

Dealing with anxiety is tough enough, but what’s even worse is when people don’t understand it. Many who have never experienced or aren’t familiar with anyone who goes through anxiety have a lot of misconceptions about it and the things people do because of it. It makes coping with anxiety much harder.

In this video we will talk about 13 things people don’t realize you do because of your anxiety. Generally speaking, people with anxiety do certain things to overcome their anxiety. The feeling my last for a short time, but it is needed. The problem is, a lot of individuals misinterpret what they are doing.

Why are some people so judgmental, so high & mighty, so nasty, gossipy, and scornful of other people? What if it's nothing to do with the other people? What if in fact it's a window into the dark side of the person doing the judging?

Peaceful Mind: Natural Strategies for Managing Anxiety

Anxiety can be treated in a variety of ways. One common treatment option is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps provide people with tools to cope with anxiety when it occurs.

There are also certain medications, like antidepressants and sedatives, that work to balance brain chemistry and prevent episodes of anxiety. They may even ward off the most severe symptoms.

If you’re looking to go a more natural route, though, there are little and big ways you can help combat anxiety.

My 3 Most Debilitating Symptoms Of Anxiety And How I Crushed Them

featured image

If You’ve Had Enough Coping With Your Symptoms Of Anxiety Begin The #1 CBT/NLP Based Program Today: /

Description: I’ve been getting the question of ‘Dennis could you tell me what your worst symptoms of anxiety were, and how you dealt with them please’ quite a bit lately, and so it’s time to dive deep. I’ve made many videos around anxiety symptoms in the past few years but in this video I want to target the energetic/imagination side of my skill sets that I used to ride myself of coping with symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis.

Here’s Why We Need To Talk About Hypochondria/Health Anxiety More!

Hypochondria is a mental condition marked by excessive and constant worry by people that they may have some kind of serious disease. The sufferer may not exhibit any physical symptoms of anxiety, or he/she may construe mild symptoms or bodily sensations to be a symptom of some severe ailment.

This can continue to haunt the person even after comprehensive tests have proved the absence of any serious medical illness.

Hypochondria/health anxiety sufferers live in perennial fear that they are afflicted by one or many diseases. Doctors may give them assurances that all is fine with them, but as the pain or cough is real, they do not believe the doctors.

Also, doctors cannot completely guarantee that a sufferer is not suffering from diseases like ulcer, multiple sclerosis, or cancer. This is reason enough for hypochondriacs to continue worrying about their worst fears.

It is important to talk more about hypochondria because sufferers who experience such debilitating symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis not only harm themselves mentally and emotionally, but also ruin many important relationships in their lives.

Hypochondriacs may constitute just six percent of the people who make visits to the clinics annually, but they make frequent visits and spend excessive amounts of time at hospitals as I did for years.

A huge amount of information about different conditions is now available through the internet online. This can also lead to worsening of hypochondria and the symptoms of anxiety that follow. Health anxiety sufferers regularly access the internet and find out about information on new illnesses or new presentations of older illnesses that they were never aware of!

Most doctors consider hypochondriacs/health anxiety sufferers to be of nuisance value and do not mind losing them as patients. There are however some physicians who believe that the assumption that nothing is wrong with the patients is incorrect. They believe that there is something wrong indeed, but the anomaly has more to do with abnormal thoughts, repressed emotions, and memory than physical issues.

Hypochondria can be divided into 3 kinds of mental conditions whose symptoms are somewhat similar to those exhibited by hypochondriacs. The first kind can be classified as a variation of OCD; the second kind can be something like depression, often caused by an event that causes guilt or loss; while the third kind is made up of those who somatize and place increased time and focus on their bodies.

In all the above cases, hypochondria assumes the form of a self-reinforced vicious spiral. Health anxiety sufferers may notice some symptom of anxiety, construe it as irregular, and start exploring for additional signs. All have minor pains and twinges. Further exploration of it does often result in finding more of such minor abnormalities. Thus, even when the doctor informs you that nothing is wrong, you do not get assured as you have the sensations to prove that something may be wrong.

For all the reasons stated above, and for many more, it is important for more debate and discussion to occur on hypochondria and health anxiety. It will increase awareness about the mental health condition, and about new empowering ways to overcome and treat it.

Lyrics:
It’s just so casual ~ how you wrap your arms around my neck
It’s to the point where I can’t ignore the things you’ve always said.

Hit me like Add er all and put me back in my place.
Away from you, still in plain view.
(I think it’s better alone, left unspoken)

Is all am a mess to you?
Just help me see this through.
I know you see the worst in me and I see the worst in you.

Let me know, if I’m overstepping chemicals.
The ones that tell you that your better alone.
Let’s see what’s buried inside,
I think you’ll find maybe it’s better left unsaid.
It’s all innocuous

Set me aside, leave me out to dry
Whatever makes you feel alright
Dub me again so I can make up my mind
Set me aside so you can feel a glimpse of absent mind.
When we both know this isn’t working.

Does it make you feel the same?
When we try and fail?
No sense to hide away in shame
(When I just want you to...)

So, I’ll stay silent as you hoped I would
I think I’ve said enough
Your actions seem to bite your tongue
I'm sick with running from these ample thoughts still building up
I’ll stay away and let the silent air escape this thought
When you come back around don’t act the same as when you left

About Me:
I’m Emma McAdam. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have worked in many settings of growth and change since 2004.. My experience includes: juvenile corrections, wilderness therapy programs and adventure therapy programs. I also have experience in residential treatment centers, eating disorder treatment centers, and outpatient therapy clinics.

My therapy uses a combination Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Systems Theory. Positive psychology is also used. I also use a bio-psychosocial approach to treat mental illness and other problems we all face. My videos often incorporate ideas from multiple sources. Many of these ideas are based on Acceptance and Commitment therapy, particularly the work of Jason Luoma and Steven Hayes. The section on stress and the mind/body connection is based on the work of Stephen Porges (the Polyvagal Theory), Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing), Francine Shapiro and Bessel Van der Kolk. The work of the Arbinger Institute is a major source of my understanding of how we can choose the direction of our lives.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is deeper than that. It orients my personal worldview, sense of security, hope, peace, and love.
