17 Benefits of ADHD

The ADHD Weaknesses That Are Actually Your Greatest Strengths. Strengths and weaknesses of ADHD are two sides of the same coin. No magical thinking or woo woo required!

ADHD gifts us with a unique perspective on the world that those without ADHD are unlikely to understand.
For example, not everyone has the ability to hyperfocus. When an individual with ADHD enters this state, they can spend the time extremely productively and accomplish amazing things.

ADHD medication is not always need and medication does not always work. If you are allergic to medication, it is not necessary.

Black women have ADHD, too. Why black women don’t talk about ADHD.

featured image

This channel is for YOU, my Black Sisters & WOC, with ADHD. For every Black Woman willing to share her personal ADHD struggle, there are five more hiding ADHD in the shadows of shame and stigma. ADHD can make us feel inept, unqualified, and bring us down to levels of deep depression. It makes us question whether things can ever get better, rather we will ever just be “normal.” The answer is a resounding ‘YES’ you can be highly-functioning with ADHD without shame, without hiding, and without trying to make yourself “normal.” That’s what this space is for. It’s safe. I understand. Believe, I REALLY UNDERSTAND.

We need to be understood. We desire to be understood and accepted no matter how many times we lose keys, purses, forget appointments, or argue with co-workes who aren’t nearly as smart as we…they just seem to get their ideas across quicker while we’re figuring out how to collect our thoughts and ideas.
For those reasons and a thousand more, ADHD is the new BLACK is an important use of YouTube. Help other black women and WOC with ADHD find this channel by “liking” and “subscribing” This is one way we can lift up each other.

My article share: if you experience hypersensitivity to light, sound, certain fabrics, there’s a reason for that. See the article below.

A Low-Carb/Keto Diet, Intermittent Fasting and Fasted Workouts can help alleviate symptoms of Brain Fog, especially If you suffer from ADD or ADHD. You may be aware of the term ‘Brain Fog’ to describe the feeling of having a clouded mind, feeling lost in a mental haze of muddled thoughts and low mental energy. We forget that medication alone will only take you so far and that much of our productivity comes from what energy sources we consume and how well we condition our bodies. Lifestyle options for improving cognitive function in ADHD brains may greatly reduce the occurrence of Brain Fog overall.

Brain fog can be relieved by a low-carb/keto diet, intermittent fasting, and fasted workouts, especially if you have ADD or ADHD. Brain fog is a term that describes a feeling of having a cloudy mind, feeling lost in a mental fog of muddled thought and low mental energy. It is important to remember that medications alone can only get you so far. Much of your productivity depends on how healthy and well-nourished we are. There are lifestyle options that can improve cognitive function in ADHD brains. This could greatly reduce Brain Fog.

As much as my meds help me, it's a battle to remember to do all the things I need to do to be able to take them: sign up for health insurance, pay my bill, make a doctor appointment, GO to that appointment, get my prescription, find a pharmacy that can fill it, remember to pick it up before it closes, remember to bring my ID so they'll let me...

It's easy for me to question if my meds are really needed when I skip a step.

This was what I did when I forgot my insurance payment. I stopped taking my medication for 2 weeks, and then tried to figure out how to live on my own.

Please share -- the stigma is real and no one should feel ashamed about seeking the treatment they need, even if their disorder is invisible or mental.

Mental health is as important as physical, and it's high time that we recognize this.

*NOTE- I don't recommend stopping taking medication without consulting a doctor. To resolve problems, a medical professional should always be available. Talk to your pharmacist if you are unable to reach your doctor.
