http://adhdinadults.com/ Anthony Rostain MD/MA, the Medical Director for the Penn Medicine Adult ADHD Program emphasizes the importance of knowing your patients when prescribing medication for the treatment of ADHD. Understanding the traits of "at risk" patients can help primary care providers identify the potential for medication abuse.

Most ADHD medications act as a stimulant and have the potential to be abused, especially in colleges and universities where prescriptions may be diverted from the original patient. This type of misuse is more common in colleges because stimulants serve as cognitive performance enhancers that students use while studying or and can sometimes be used recreationally.

Alternative, low risk, stimulant medications exist to treat ADHD. These include slow releasing (extended release amphetamines) that are stimulant medications with a reduced risk of abuse. Three non-stimulant medications are also available for ADHD patients.

Physicians may be concerned with medical and legal consequences that can occur if a patient is abusing or diverting federally controlled medication, such as Adderall. It is becoming increasingly common for Doctors to use careful documentation, such as a detailed contract about the medication and its use, which is signed by the patient. Doctors diagnosing ADHD in adults can use such contracts to avoid legal problems.

Children and teens with Social Anxiety Disorder have an excessive fear of social and/or performance situations. They are overly concerned that they may do something embarrassing or humiliating, or others will think badly of them. These children constantly feel "on stage," which can lead to a great deal of self-consciousness.

- Social anxiety disorder usually begins in adolescence.
- It can develop suddenly after a stressful or humiliating experience or slowly over time.
- An equal number of girls and boys experience social anxiety.
- Some of the problems associated with social anxiety disorder include poor school performance, low confidence in social situations, trouble developing and maintaining friendships, and depression.

Hi, my name is Seb. I'm a former #SocialAnxietyDisorder sufferer, the host of a popular podcast show (Social Anxiety Solutions) and a social confidence coach.

I have helped hundreds of #sociallyanxious clients to feel #calm and #comfortable since 2009,.

Due to the #CoronaVirus, I am in self-quarantine. People like the quarantined Italians who sang from their balconies inspired me. Well, I have a lot of time ...

However, I thought I could help and created a free 30day Social Confidence Challenge to all those who struggle with #socialanxiety.

This is a great opportunity to lower your social anxiety.

Now the mainstream belief is that the only way to do this is to #ChangeYourThoughts, and force yourself to #FaceYourFears

This didn't work out for me (I'll share more about the challenge), so I looked for #AlternativeWays. Finally, I came up with a new approach.

My approach is based on #traditional #WesternPsychology but includes a very important component,
.
Addressing your #EMOTIONAL SIDE to social anxiety.

Although I can help you change your mind and face your fears, I do it in an #EffectiveWay that is #LessStressful and much more effective.

How?

Face your fears inside. Then, you #release them.

For this, we use a #powerful, #scientificallyproven to be #effective #EmotionalReleaseTechnique. Details about the #technique and how to use it to #OvercomeSocialAnxiety are beyond the scope of this brief message.

----------------------
This video provides a summary of the main points to show that your brain interprets perception as social anxiety. The perception of reality is controlled by our beliefs. These beliefs can be altered. Social anxiety disappears when you can change the beliefs that lead to the fear of danger. Zero. Zero.

Many people have asked about the ending to this video. It's not easy, it's great! What can you do to change your beliefs? It's not possible to do this. They are correct.

A belief is an idea or thought that you are emotionally attached to because of painful experiences and conditioning. It is not enough to "change your thoughts". It won't work to tell yourself that you are good enough.

Social anxiety is not a problem that can be solved by logic. To change your beliefs completely, you need to deal with them emotionally. You can overcome social anxiety once you do this. If you have been struggling for a while (and most people have been struggling for a while) and have tried many things, it might be hard for you to believe that this is possible. What if the approach you tried wasn't right for you? What if you find that this approach is only mildly helpful?

EFT was a strange-looking technique that quickly releases excessive negative emotions. This was the key to my success. Since my anxiety was severe and complex, it has been a long journey to find the right technique to help me overcome it. Thanks to EFT tapping and a brilliant therapist, I have been free from anxiety for many years.

Video testimonials from former clients that have overcome their anxiety about social media are also available. They are now so comfortable with themselves that they don't care what other people think.

There is a way around it. Give it a shot.
