What is Mixed Mania and How Do We Treat It? Mixed mania can be described as bipolar disorder 1 or 2. It may have mixed features. Bipolar 1 disorder is characterized by episodes of depression or mania. You can have episodes of depression or hypomania with bipolar 2.

Mixed features is when you have both depression and hypomanic symptoms. It is more difficult to treat mixed mania than bipolar disorder with no mixed features. This video will discuss electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnet stimulation (TMS) and other treatment options.
