"In The KNOW" with Phil Hayes - Helaine Betnun Clinical Depression Episode, 6/28/13

featured image

This is a show that is one year in the making. Helaine Betnun, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, agreed to sit down with me for an interview about clinical depression. Among things we discussed were PTSD, post pardum depression, and teenage bullying which leads to depression and unfortunately, suicide in many cases.

Two things of note: 1) The audio is a bit iffy, the A/C was on throughout the filming (which was necessary because the heat index that day was over 100), and 2) this is the first time I decided to do my intro/outro without notes. Trust me, I won’t make that mistake again.

I’d been researching the topic right up until filming and some of the things I’d discovered in that later research rattled me to the core and not much does. I made this show of a serious tone, as opposed to my other shows, again, depression is a serious subject. I hope you all enjoy and can learn something about the stigma of this awful condition. Thank you for your support!
