HealthCare Update: FDA Approves EndeavorRX Video Game for ADHD Treatment?

featured image

Questions about health insurance? Call us at iHealthBrokers at 888-410-0344. Our services are 100% free!

ABOUT THIS VIDEO

A video game that treats ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) has been approved by the FDA. This ADHD treatment is available as an adjunct or as a standalone.

“EndeadvorRX” is the video game. The game features cartoon-like characters who move through levels, overcoming obstacles and collecting points. You can create your own treatment plans by adapting to the game.

The FDA has not approved the game yet for ADHD. However, there are some hints that it could help improve cognitive function in other disorders.

In this video, we're going to talk about one way that depression and anxiety are linked - avoidance - and the antidote to avoidance - willingness.

Anxiety and depression are closely linked. Many people experience both simultaneously. This isn’t an accident. This is not a coincidence. Rather, how we react to stress and other painful emotions can determine whether or not our anxiety grows.
Avoidance can lead to anxiety and depression. However, a way to overcome this is to be willing to let your emotions flow without trying to control them.

Why anxiety and depression are closely linked
Depression and anxiety are a common comorbidity

This video describes the controversy surrounding the so-called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) epidemic. ADHD is characterized by symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity including impulsivity, fidgeting, irritability, forgetfulness, anxiety, mood swings, limited attention span, trouble focusing, excitability, and boredom. Evidence suggests that a good portion of the diagnoses of ADHD are incorrect. In some cases, normal childhood behavior has been pathologized and the number of ADHD cases has risen to about 10 – 15% of school-aged children. More widespread prescribing of stimulants has led to increased number of individuals with stimulant use disorder. More thorough assessments are needed to limit the diagnosing of ADHD to only those who have the disorder.
