ADHD Medications
Two types of stimulants
Methylphenidate (Concerta, Ritalin, Metadate, Methylin, Focalin) type Stimulant
Amphetamine Salts (Adderall and Vyvanse), type Stimulants
Non-stimulant Drugs
Strattera (Atomoxetine), a NRI, affects the dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain synapses .
Alpha 2 Agonists drugs Intuniv (Guanfacine) and Kapvay (Clonidine) these drugs are anti-hypertensive drugs (blood pressure meds) that trigger a neurotransmitter receptor called the Alpha 2 receptor (Alpha 2 receptor can be triggered by norepinephrine

You can also use OFF-LABEL ADHD medications. These meds are considered first-line treatments. You can only use the off-label meds if you cannot tolerate side effects or they don't work.

No nosso encontro de hoje, Dra Ellen Manfrim, uma neuropediatra muito conhecida e conceituada nos grupos de pais de crianças autistas, responde ao vivo algumas dúvidas dos seguidores. Nesse vídeo ela responde as seguintes perguntas:

Ao responder essas perguntas, a Dra Ellen fala dos efeitos colaterais da Ritalina e de outros medicamentos para TDAH. Ela comenta sobre todos os remédios que existem para TDAH, como Ritalina LA, Concerta, Venvanse, Strattera, Medato etc. Ela também fala sobre medicações para ansiedade, já que, como a mesma diz: ter TDAH, ser autista nível 1 de suporte e ter ansiedade é um "combo" bem comum de se ver.
