It's been a year since William Curb started the Hacking Your ADHD podcast and we're celebrating. It has been one year plus three months, in true ADHD fashion. We are proud to have reached this milestone.

Podcasting is an art form that requires discipline. This is especially true for those with ADHD. Although it is helpful to have a system in place, there are many new aspects of ADHD that you will face as you attempt to maintain a consistent schedule.

William spends time writing his podcast. This allows him to keep them short and concise, but sometimes he misses the production date. He has never stopped working, which is fine.

As we talk about automation and ADHD, what it does and doesn't do, how Hacking Your ADHD is shaping the future, and how the podcast has helped him with various ADHD symptoms. He also shares some of his hacks for ADHD, and how he is adapting these hacks to his 5-year-old daughter. Hacking Your ADHD style, we finish this episode with an incredible dad joke from William's huge "dad joke library."

You'll learn: [02: 08] Welcome to ADHD reWired, William Curb. [04: 17] William shares the learning process he has gone through as he works on his Podcast. [06: 26] How ADHD makes podcast production challenging. [09: 16] Quick thoughts on automation and creating systems. [12: 31] Why using what we have is sometimes harder than just buying more. [16: 27] Has William considered writing a book? [22: 49] What does the future look like for Hacking Your ADHD? [26: 29] How has he been doing with letting go of perfectionistic tendencies? [29: 02] Has listening to himself helped with his speech? [31: 18] Learn more about how his scripts have evolved over time. [35: 51] What kinds of things would he like to try out with the podcast? [43: William shares his ADHD hacks. [48: 11] How timers have helped him manage his time and productivity. [53: 01] It doesn't matter if someone else is teaching the same thing. Find out why. [57: 22] Why his ADHD network is partially responsible for the success of the podcast. [59: 04] A quick dad joke to make your day. What does Adderall feel like? The SURPRISING and SHOCKING outcome.

featured image

How does Adderall make you feel? Everyone is different, but Adderall (a stimulant medication) has been shown to improve concentration and impulsivity in people who legitimately need pharmaceutical intervention for diagnosed ADHD. For me, in addition to improved focus and impulse control, I also found relief from brain fog, I can prioritize better and…something else that I never expected. Something so weird and inexplicable that it’s actually funny.

No Adderall? TRY THIS
I love this coffee so much that I recommend it.
When my meds wear off, I drink Genius Blend Coffee. I boosts my focus if it need that extra support at the end of the day or whenever if I am out of meds.

For a biology project, Hudson wonders here whether Genetic Engineering could be utilized to rid the world of teen suicide due to anxiety, depression and ADHD. He examines the science , the history of eugenics and science fiction novels that play with the possibilities of genetic engineering to provide a compelling reason why the possible risks of genetic engineering can be justified to eliminate teen suicide due to mental illness.

Hudson Kaneko is a 15 year old (he/his/him) guy who is typical in so many ways and struggles with depression, anxiety and ADHD. He has tried everything from therapists to medication to embracing these challenges.

How does Adderall make you feel? It's a shocking and surprising result.

How does Adderall make you feel? Although everyone is unique, Adderall (a stimulant medication), has been shown to increase concentration and impulsivity in those who have ADHD. In addition to having better focus and impulse control, Adderall also helped me with brain fog. I am able to prioritize better and do things in a way that is unexpected. It’s so bizarre and unexplainable, it’s funny.

This coffee is my favorite.
After my meds have worn off, I enjoy Genius Blend Coffee. If I’m out of medication, it helps me focus and boost my energy.

Is this you? Tapping your fingers. Bouncing a leg. Playing with a pen, pen, keys and rings.
Until someone shouts "Stop! You don't realize how irritating that can be! "
You probably didn't know we were doing it. You stop. You'll be silent for a few seconds. Then tap-tap-tap

Why do we fidget? Do we need to be concerned? Is it a problem? Could it be a solution?

Although others may find your fidgeting distracting it can actually help you manage your agitation and increase your ability to concentrate and think.
