This video is about what my personal experience is coming off of adderall. I am ADHD and it is by prescription, I have taken adderall for the last 20 years and am very thankful for it because it does allow me to lead a productive life. There are some definite affects when it starts to wear off that are noticeable and here I share my experience of what I feel when I start to come down. I do think that adderall is by far the best ADHD medicine that I have used so if you were wondering what the experience coming off of it is here you go.

Two of Robert Whitaker's books on this subject are among the most cited in the literature: Mad in America (2002) and Anatomy of an Epidemic (2010). He has received numerous awards (listed below), including a George Polk Award for medical writing and a National Association of Science Writers Award for best magazine article. He was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize in 1998.
Whitaker's work has alerted both the medical community and the general public to the serious dangers of psychotropic medicines when used for extended periods. He has become a standard reference for the facts.
Robert Whitaker is a prominent medical writer, whose concentration is on psychiatric care and psychotropic drugs. In this presentation he provides important information about how ADHD —now an "epidemic"— is diagnosed and why users of medications for ADHD should be cautious. Recent news stories about the hazards of long-term ADHD medications and the more general use of these drugs to enhance concentration underscore the importance of Whitaker's discussion.
What is anxiety? There’s a good chance you’ve heard people on social media, or in real life, talking about it. The word gets thrown around a lot but there can be a bit of confusion about what it actually is.
Stress and Anxiety are very similar but there are some differences that are handy to know.
Stress is usually temporary; it often goes away when the thing that’s stressing you out goes away.
For example when you’ve got an assignment due tomorrow that you’ve haven’t started yet.
Most of the time stress doesn’t impact your overall quality of life that much.
Anxiety is often more of a long term thing.
Feelings of anxiousness can stick around after the thing you were worried aboutpasses.
Sometimes these feelings exist without any particular reason at all.
Now a really important thing to know
Is that feeling stressed or feeling anxious are both completely normal parts of being human.
There are a bunch of different words or emotions that can be used to represent anxiety.
These feelings are actually protective and as humans have evolved they’ve helped keep people safe from danger and motivated them to be prepared!
Whether that’s cavemen staying away from that suss noise in the bushes
Or the stress you feel about an upcoming exam which is what makes you prepare and practice!
Anxiety can start to become a problem when we begin to see threats or danger where there might not be
Or when these feelings stick around for a long time and really start to interfere with our everyday life.
There are a few symptoms you can keep an eye out for but whatever you do don’t go trying to self-diagnose & label yourself as someone who has an ‘anxiety disorder’.
Only a professional can do this and even they’re not supposed to diagnose themselves!
Plus telling yourself that you have an anxiety disorder can just make you more worried
When all that you’re feeling may just be the kinds of things that most other people feel too.
When you are feeling a bit more stressed or anxious than usual
It can be good to chat to an adult you trust like a parent teacher guardian whatever.
You might find that you’re not alone
And like I said you may realise that the things you’re feeling are what a lot of other people are feeling too and that’s ok.
There are also some helpful numbers you can call and if you are really worried you can go to see a GP or health professional.

Details Matter:
The Meds Don't Work Long Enough: The Duration of Effectiveness [DOE] is not adequate: Each stimulant drug, each family of stimulant drugs has its own expected DOE. This DOE is not discussed in the literature as a measuring tool, but it's common knowledge with any who watches carefully for drug action and duration throughout the day.
All stimulant medications have an expected, less than 24 hr duration. Duration is an obvious point but is overlooked so often as an essential tool. If meds last less than 24 hr, then how long should each last? Dialing in the particular duration is necessary to get the best action out of each specific med. [AMP=Amphetamine Family, MPH=Methylphenidate Family]
Vyvanse [AMP] and Daytrana [MPH patch] both win the DOE race with 12-14 hr expected as optimum.
Adderall XR [AMP] is next with 8 hr DOE -- sometimes can get 10, but often more DOE is too much - out the top of the Therapeutic Window: w
Concerta [MPH] and Focalin [MPH] both run 8 hr if dialed in effectively - some studies show longer, my experience: more than 10 hr with either of these is too much -- see other articles on the 'Top of the Window.'
Metadate CR [MPH] and Ritalin LA [MPH] are both right at 8 hr, rarely longer, with side effects, if pushing the dose higher
The Immediate Release Stimulants, the tablets with no extended time
expected, last only a portion of the day with Adderall IR [AMP]
[Immediate Release Tabs] lasting about max 5 hr, Ritalin IR [MPH] is 4-hour max duration.
