And take heart: You are not alone. In this video, families share how they decided to treat their son or daughter.

This webinar explains the nature of anxiety as well as various ways to manage it. Dr. Roemer gives an overview of mindfulness and the many ways it can be used. She also explains how mindfulness can benefit those suffering from anxiety. As the behavioral goal of mindfulness, she explains the importance of values-based practice (doing what is important to you regardless of your anxiety).
Dr. Lizabeth R. Roemer is Professor and Chair in the Department of Psychology, University of Massachusetts Boston. She is involved in clinical training and research for doctoral students in clinical psychology. Dr. Roemer is the author of four books and has published journal chapters, book chapters, and over journal article. Dr. Roemer developed an acceptance-based behavioral treatment for generalized anxiety disorder in collaboration with Dr. Susan Orsillo. The National Institute of Mental Health funded studies that examined the effectiveness of this treatment. The Mindful Way through Anxiety: Break free from Chronic Worry, Reclaim Your Life!, and the self-help workbook Worry Less, Live More? The Mindful Way Through Anxiety Workbook draw on their decades of experience in this field to offer guidance for people suffering from anxiety.
We have all experienced moments in life where people called us ‘stupid’, ‘dumb’, or other harsh words. Sometimes people may say it so often that you end up believing them even though deep down you know that you are far from ‘stupid’. Sadly, this negative stereotype has been used to describe those who struggled with undiagnosed ADHD. To help you reduce this stigma, here are a few signs of ADHD, not being “dumb”…
We also made a video on the signs of ADHD, not laziness:

Yes, water titration: an important topic since Vyvanse first came out, and this is the *single most visited post at CorePsych for over 8 years.*
To see the connection between brain science and common sense: details, evidence matters.
This point is #7: Take the Vyvanse capsule at the lowest dose, 20mg, break it 1/2 and pour the powdered contents into 2 oz of water in a measuring cup. Throw away the gelatin capsule.
We've had excellent results dosing down to 5mg using 4 oz of water on the 20 mg capsule of Vyvanse. And, yes, it's OK in the refrigerator - just mark it so someone else doesn't drink it. Do tell your doc, but rest assured, they won't have a problem if you consider even more careful dosing.

Often they get tested for ADHD when their adult children or grandchildren are diagnosed with ADHD. Diagnosing ADHD in ages over fifty is a little more difficult because ADHD can be overlooked because of natural cognitive decline. Clinicians must become aware of ADHD and look for it in symptoms of inattentiveness, distraction, forgetfulness, and general difficulties of disorganization. Screen for ADHD!

What is ADHD?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a neurodevelopmental disorder, is characterised by excessive energy, inattention, hyper-fixation, impulsivity, and other symptoms that are not appropriate for an individual's age.
ADHD can also cause problems with executive function and emotional regulation. The symptoms must be present for at least six months and have caused problems in at least two settings (such school, home, or recreational activities) to qualify as ADHD.
Children who have trouble paying attention can experience a decrease in school performance. It can also be associated with mental disorders or substance abuse disorders.
ADHD can cause impairments, but many people with ADHD can maintain attention (hyperfocus), for tasks that they find rewarding or interesting.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback Therapy, also known as Neurofeedback, is a method that teaches people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), how to control their brain waves.

Do you want to lose your social anxiety or social anxiety disorder? If so, this video is meant to help you to completely lose your social anxiety.

Noah Elkrief
This is video is about how to lose your social anxiety or social anxiety disorder. The video first explains why you have social anxiety or social anxiety disorder. That is, because you have a self image that is impacted by others' opinions. When someone has a positive opinion, and you believe it, that improves your opinion of yourself, which gives you please. And when the opposite happens, you feel hurt or pain.
You have social anxiety or social anxiety disorder because you fear the impact that others' opinions will have on you. Others' opinions can worsen your opinion of yourself, prevent you from improving your opinion of yourself, or actually take away a part of your self-image. The effect of all of these is suffering.
How to deal with anxiety and get anxiety relief? How do you lose social anxiety or social anxiety disorder? By recognize that your self-image, your story of who you are, is not actually real, true, or who you are. Social anxiety or social anxiety disorder, is created by confusing the story in your head (your imagination) to be who you are. Then we fear the worsening or loss of that story, the same way that we lose the fear of our body (fear of death).
In order to lose your self-image, this video provides 7 questions/exercises to help you discover that components of your self-image aren't real or who you are.
I hope this video about how to lose social anxiety or social anxiety disorder is helpful.

I'm a meditation teacher with ADHD. I quickly learned that most styles of meditation do not work for me, and don't address the root causes of ADHD.
I similarly found that many psychological approaches to ADHD are primarily focused on symptom management, and don't address the underlying issues.
After a lot of trial and error, I eventually found a way of practicing that actually works! I have personally seen a dramatic reduction of my ADHD symptoms.
I made this video as well as a short guided meditation you can download to introduce you to a truly effective approach to treating the underlying causes of ADHD.

Yes, the elusive style of meditation practice for ADHD and ADD that actually works does indeed exist. Meditating is often prescribed for those of us suffering from ADHD / ADD, which is essentially torture if it's a concentration style practice.
But fear not, mindfulness or Vipassana style practices can offer relief for the restlessness of ADHD, especially when they are focused on developing more clarity and equanimity with the underlying restlessness.
This video explores the practices that actually work for ADHD and ADD (I keep writing both because many people do not suffer from the hyperactivity).
If you're looking for a natural treatment for ADHD, this would certainly be an integral part, along with diet and exercise. Hope you enjoy!

ADD & Loving it?! has been called “the best film ever made on ADD.” Okay, we called it that, but thousands agree! Originally aired on Global Television in Canada and PBS in the US, this award-winning documentary is changing lives.
Made by and for adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, this is a must-see for anyone who has ever been impacted by this much-misunderstood disorder — or wondered if they had it.
“I’ve been misdiagnosed for over almost 30 years. I saw ADD and Loving It?! and it explains my whole life the way nothing else has. I started reading, going to support groups and diving into this new journey… I feel like I have a whole new lease on life!” –DP __________________________________________
