Diagnose and Treat Generalized Dismay Disorder? - Insights from Dr Sanil Rege (Psychiatrist)

featured image

Dr Sanil Rege discusses the diagnosis and management of Generalised apprehension dysfunction (GAD).

GAD is characterised by power feelings of distress and worries about day to day issues that are subtle to manipulate. GAD is on common easiest diagnosed 10 years after onset at which point the affected person has long gone to the medical doctors due to comorbid disorders such as apprehension dysfunction, depression, or chronic anxiety disorders. Attributable to this truth, all patients that are diagnosed with apprehension needs to be screened for depression as successfully.

The preliminary evaluation ought to deal with behaviour and somatic symptoms; the review of psychosocial stress and developmental disorders in the context of previous medical history will doubtless be broken-all of the manner down to exclude other organic causes.
As with any disorders across the apprehension spectrum, a pragmatic technique that involves psychoeducation and records on everyday life factors (e.g. healthy everyday life picks touching on weight loss program, bid, and sleep) is galvanized.

SSRIs (e.g. sertraline, paroxetine, and escitalopram) and SNRIs (e.g. venlafaxine and duloxetine) are supported by RCT recordsdata to lessen symptoms and remission charges, respectively.

Clinicians needs to be responsive to the myriad of comorbid disorders that most steadily fresh with GAD. Proof suggests psychoeducation and everyday life changes to boot to CBT as the categorical forms of therapy. SSRIs /SNRIs are efficient medications that can be regarded as first-line or if CBT is ineffective.

http://adhdinadults.com/ Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can inhibit people from functioning at their highest potential and is often the cause or a contributing factor to problems in a patient's professional and personal life. Adult ADHD expert, Lenard Adler, joins Robert Tudisco to illustrate the benefits patients receive when diagnosed and treated for ADHD.

Tudisco sought help for ADHD shortly after his child was tested and diagnosed. Often after identifying ADHD symptoms in children, parents gain insight on their own behaviors. For that reason, Adler recommends that healthcare professions screen adults for ADHD if their child has been diagnosed. Such was the case for Tudisco, who noted that at work he was having problems with time management, paying attention to multiple things at once and completing administrative tasks.

Personal relationships can also suffer due to adult ADHD. Concerned about being a better father and husband, Tudisco sought help and became educated with information on ADHD and stories about other patients. He was prescribed a non-stimulant medication that has helped him cope with his ADHD and has since been able to overcome some of the obstacles that he was unable to manage prior to his diagnosis.

Adler is the Director of the Adult ADHD Program at NYU School of Medicine. Robert Tudisco, Esq. is the Executive Director of ADHD Coaching, Adult ADHD. For more information on Adult ADHD please visit the link above. Our Website with Free Resources

How To Diagnose Depression

featured image

Video About How To Diagnose Depression? How can brain scans help diagnose depression? Diagnostics for Clinically Depressed Patients
Suicidal Thoughts!

There are many reasons why someone may feel depressed after losing a loved one, especially a spouse. Depression is often dismissed by most people. They will tell you to spend time with friends, watch a movie, or engage in other activities. These tricks work well for stress but not for clinical depression. If you are suffering from clinical depression, you should seek the help of a psychiatrist. In New York City, USA, you can reach out to us through (212) 362-9635.

Many signs can indicate clinical depression. A professional will examine the whole list of signs to diagnose depression. You may experience excessive sleep or not enough sleep, which can lead to depression. This can last for several days. You may wake up at 1am, but you don’t fall asleep again. Your concentration will drop and your energy levels will plummet. It will be harder to do simple tasks. You might also notice a decrease in your ability to breathe at different times of the day. This can make you less productive at work.

You feel anxious and worried and are often restless. You feel haunted by the things you have done in the past, what you should be doing and many other things. If guilt is excessive, it can lead to low self-esteem which is the root cause of depression. You become more isolated if you allow guilt to dominate your thoughts every day.

Suicidal thoughts can become a serious problem when you reach the peak of depression. You may drift off to sleep, hoping you won’t wake up one day, or feel the urge to jump from a bridge or run in front of a car. This is the most dangerous part. This is the most dangerous stage. We recommend that you seek professional assistance before you reach this point.

Your social life is ruined. After a year of being isolated, you stop answering calls and quit your job. The first signs of depression should be treated as soon as they appear.

Health Matters: Why it's important to diagnose and treat ADHD early

Signs and symptoms include hyperactivity, fidgeting, inattentiveness, and a lack of impulse control.

https://medbusiness.net/health-matters-why-its-important-to-diagnose-and-treat-adhd-early/

Why do I accomplish some of my To-Dos, but delay, avoid, dread, and procrastinate over others? My problem was always me. It turned out that it wasn't.

It was frustrating. It was frustrating. I would put off urgent, important or meaningful tasks until the end of the day. I would then promise, "I'll get it done tomorrow... First thing... Or one... Or

It was hard to understand why I would avoid doing simple tasks and do other tasks fast and easily. Even gladly!

These simple reasons were the reason I was putting off certain tasks while I could easily complete others. They weren't all the same task. These were not simple tasks. These were more than just a list of To-Dos. They were a series of tasks. These distinctions made a huge difference in my life. It will do the same for you, I'm sure.

These are the top 5 best prescription weight loss medications on the market. These weight loss meds actually work and I've personally used them on many patients with success.

I've been helping people lose weight for a long time and over the years I've been able to test many different weight loss medications. I've found that while there are many prescription weight loss medications available, only a handful actually work very well.

In this video, I will walk you through the top 5 best prescription weight loss medications available on the market, which ones I prefer to use, what you can expect while using them, how they work, and more.

Before you jump in, make sure you understand that while prescription weight loss medications can be very effective, you should never just use them by themselves. If you are serious about weight loss you should combine these weight loss medications with other changes such as adjusting your diet, reducing your stress, exercising daily, and balancing your other hormones.

If your plan is to jump on one of these medications and lose a bunch of weight, it's probably not going to happen!

But these medications can be very effective if used correctly and if combined with a healthy lifestyle.

The top 5 best prescription medications for weight loss include:

#1. Saxenda/Victoza
Saxenda is FDA approved for weight loss and is probably the single most effective medication on this list.

#2. Invokana/Farxiga
Invokana and Farxiga are not FDA approved for weight loss but they can help. They work by helping your body eliminate or pee out sugar from your kidneys.

#3. Naltrexone
Naltrexone is a part of one FDA approved weight loss medication known as Contrave. Naltrexone is not as effective as the others but it is very safe.

#4. Metformin
Metformin is commonly used to treat diabetes but it does have some weight loss benefits. Don't expect much from metformin though because many people are already taking it.

#5. Phentermine
Phentermine helps with weight loss by reducing your appetite and increasing up your metabolism. It only works if it is used correctly, however, so don't just jump on it without understanding how to use it.

Anxiety BC - /

When anxiety causes distress or interference that is much greater than anxiety experienced by other children of the same age, it may be called an anxiety disorder. In this case, the term "disorder" simply indicates that the anxiety problem is significant enough and has lasted long enough (usually at least a number of weeks or months) to be considered a problem that warrants intervention. Commonly, children and teens experience anxiety problems that are characteristic of more than one anxiety disorder. Fortunately, the helpful approaches are similar for various anxiety problems.

If your child has been diagnosed as having a mild to moderate anxiety disorder, it will most likely fit into this list of seven anxiety disorders and subtypes:

Separation Anxiety Disorder
Specific Phobias
Social Anxiety Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Panic Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

What is ADHD and How to Diagnose It

featured image

what is adhd

If you want to know more about the symptoms of ADHD, read on! Here, you will find out about the different types of ADHD, what causes ADHD, and how to diagnose it. This article will also help you decide if your child might have ADHD. To make a proper diagnosis, you should visit a medical professional for an ADHD diagnosis. To get started, here are some things to look for when diagnosing your child. If you are unsure about your child’s behavior, consult your pediatrician or family doctor.

Signs and Symptoms of ADHD

Identifying signs and symptoms of ADHD is crucial for parents of children who show trouble at school and at home. In some cases, children with impulsive or hyperactive behavior may not have ADHD and have other causes. If your child exhibits these signs and symptoms, consult with a pediatrician or other mental health professional. A thorough evaluation may exclude other causes of ADHD. This may require the use of a child behavior assessment.

Other signs and symptoms of ADHD include inability to concentrate and pay close attention to details. Children with ADHD struggle with following instructions, completing tasks, and listening attentively to others. They may also struggle with staying on task, keeping their room tidy, and meeting deadlines. They may also fidget with their hands and feet or squirm in their seats. These behaviors often indicate that they are “on the go” and may need to leave a room or activity at inappropriate times.

While most adults do not recognize that they have ADHD, it is important to seek medical attention. A thorough evaluation may include a medical exam, a history, and various adult rating scales. If ADHD is diagnosed, a comprehensive program of medication and psychotherapy may be indicated. In some cases, behavior management strategies may help. While this treatment is not always a cure for ADHD, it may help children cope with their symptoms and improve their daily functioning.

Types of ADHD

There are many different types of ADHD and many signs that could indicate a child has the disorder. A child may exhibit one or several symptoms, but it’s crucial to see a professional for a formal diagnosis. A medical doctor, psychiatrist, or neurologist may determine if the child is experiencing a variety of symptoms. A child may be evaluated by a series of questions, including questions from the child’s teacher or parents. Medical doctors may also perform a physical exam.

Types of ADHD can be classified into two categories: predominantly inattentive and predominantly hyperactive-impulsive. Children with the hyperactive-impulsive type are likely to exhibit problems with controlling their actions, while adults with the predominantly inattentive type may exhibit excessive fidgeting, excessive talking, and impulsivity. The combined type of ADHD may require a person to exhibit symptoms of both types. People with both types of ADHD must exhibit six of the symptoms.

While the DSM-V lists three major types of ADHD, some people do not have all three. The DSM-5.1 lists three main types of ADHD, which were previously known as subtypes. These three presentations vary from person to person, so it is important to learn about each one. Common symptoms include a lack of focus, frequent inattention, disorganization, restlessness, and impulsivity. Hyperactive type is the rarest subtype, with symptoms of restlessness, irritability, and hyperactivity.

Causes of ADHD

Children with ADHD struggle to focus on tasks they find boring. However, they can maintain intense attention when faced with tasks that they find interesting. This phenomenon is known as hyperfocus. However, it can also lead to many challenges in both the classroom and the workplace. Parents may worry that they are raising their children the wrong way, while teachers and spouses may dismiss their child as uncareful or lazy. There is no known cure for ADHD, but there are many treatments that can help your child manage this condition.

Biological research shows that brain chemistry plays a significant role in triggering ADHD. The main cause is an imbalance of certain neurotransmitters, which play an important role in transmitting stimuli to nerve cells. Faulty balance of these chemicals results in faulty information processing in the brain. Because of this, ADHD affects the sections of the brain that coordinate information processing and control. It can also affect impulse control and perception. Therefore, it is important to find a solution to ADHD symptoms as soon as possible.

The most efficient cause of ADHD would be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. The genetic component is a common cause, and ADHD is highly hereditary, with a 74% heritability rate. Environmental factors include toxins and infections during pregnancy, and damage to the brain during development. Researchers estimate that five to seven percent of children with ADHD have it in childhood. However, this number varies widely. Researchers and clinicians say that the prevalence of ADHD varies depending on the criteria used to diagnose it.

How is ADHD Diagnosed?

A professional will evaluate your child for ADHD based on his or her symptoms. The purpose of an evaluation is to identify any underlying causes, whether they be physical or psychological, and to prescribe appropriate treatment. Although ADHD diagnosis cannot be done over the Internet, some self-screening tools are available and may give you the confidence to seek help. You should bring all pertinent medical records to your appointment, as well as a detailed social and family history. Many healthcare providers will also send questionnaires to family members and friends with your consent.

The evaluation process for ADHD involves a careful review of your child’s symptoms and behavior. Your child’s parents and teachers will be interviewed for details about how your child behaves and how his or her symptoms affect his or her life. If your child is older or a teenager, the provider will ask more questions to determine whether ADHD is the cause of his or her child’s behavior problems. Exams are also conducted to rule out other diagnoses and physical problems.

Children with ADHD may also exhibit oppositional behaviors, learning disabilities, or mood issues. The doctor will treat these disorders alongside the child’s other problems. He or she may also refer you to child psychologists and psychiatrists for further treatment. Treatment for ADHD can include medicines that activate the brain’s ability to pay attention, slow down, and use self-control. Other treatments include behavior therapy, which focuses on teaching children how to interact with others.

Treatsments for ADHD

Treatments for ADHD vary greatly, but the basic goals are the same across the different therapies: to reduce the symptoms, maximize the patient’s ability to function, and promote personal agency. The cognitive component of ADHD therapy addresses the patients’ thinking errors and distortions. Treatments for ADHD can also include behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapies are particularly useful for children with ADHD. They can be applied at home, even when the child is not taking medication.

Adults with ADHD often experience less success at marital adjustment and family functioning. They have higher divorce rates. One of the most common complaints of ADHD patients is that their marriages are suffering. Spouses without ADHD often complain about their partner’s behavior and think that they are burdened with too many responsibilities. Some spouses of ADHD patients believe that their partner does not put enough effort into changing behavior. However, therapy for ADHD is beneficial for both the ADHD patient and the family as a whole.

In a study of more than 1,800 ADHD patients, nearly half received at least one of these treatments. Among these, 63% received psychosocial treatment. Three-quarters of them received medication. However, the other half received psychosocial treatment, which includes parent-delivered behavior therapy (PDBT). Another 31% of children received peer interventions and social skills training. And the rest received psychosocial treatment, which focuses on changing a child’s thoughts and behaviors.

ADHD in Adults

ADHD in adults is a serious condition characterized by difficulties with attention, focusing, and other cognitive functions. People with ADHD often have trouble keeping up with conversations and staying “tuned in” to tasks. They may lose track of time and impulsivity and are hyper-focused on things they shouldn’t be doing. They may also have trouble organizing themselves and keeping track of appointments. While these symptoms are common in children, adults with ADHD can lead to serious problems in their work and personal lives.

Most people are unaware of the fact that ADHD in adults can manifest as a lifetime condition. This neurological disorder affects attention, mood, emotional regulation, focus, organization, productivity, and impulse control. While ADHD in children is often a childhood problem, recent research suggests that symptoms can persist into adulthood. For an adult to be diagnosed with ADHD, they must have symptoms in more than one setting. Symptoms of ADHD in adults are usually accompanied by co-morbid conditions and coping mechanisms.

ADHD Medication

If your child has ADHD, medication may be an effective way to treat it. Some ADHD medications are prescribed as first-line treatments for older children, and these drugs include psychostimulants that are effective in reducing core symptoms. Some of these medications can have undesirable side effects, such as appetite suppression and headaches. Other types of ADHD medications, such as antidepressants, may have adverse effects, such as mood swings and irritability.

The most common type of ADHD medication is called methylphenidate. It belongs to a group of medicines known as stimulants. They affect the areas of the brain that control behaviour and attention. Several children respond to methylphenidate and amphetamine, but some may have less success with these treatments. Regardless of the side effects, a child should be given an adequate dose of the medication for at least three months before switching to a new medication.

Medications do not cure ADHD, but they may improve your child’s ability to concentrate, regulate impulses, plan ahead, and complete tasks. Like all treatments, however, medications have some side effects and should be monitored closely by a physician. They can also be ineffective if you do not follow the doctor’s instructions. Your doctor will also adjust the dose if necessary. A child’s dosage will depend on how well the medicine is working.

What is ADHD and Why is it So Difficult to Diagnose?

featured image

what is adhd

Many people wonder what is ADHD and why it is so difficult to diagnose. This article will cover the Types of ADHD, Signs and Symptoms, and Causes of ADHD. Learn about ADHD treatment options, including non-stimulant medications. These are often preferred by people who don’t respond to stimulants. A person suffering from ADHD should see a doctor if these medications do not work for them. However, if a child is showing signs of ADHD, they should discuss this with their family physician.

Signs and Symptoms of ADHD

Symptoms of ADHD are characterized by impulsivity and hyperactivity. Children with ADHD often fidget or tap their feet, squirm in their seats, or run or climb in inappropriate places. They may also have trouble sustaining attention. Symptoms of ADHD can interfere with schoolwork, relationships, and home life. Fortunately, prompt diagnosis can improve symptoms and avoid complications. Signs and symptoms of ADHD may overlap with other conditions, such as ADD.

Women with ADHD may have great ideas but lack the energy or organization to carry them out. They may be self-critical of their messy homes and feel embarrassed when they have guests. The lack of organization can lead people to make joking remarks about their disorganization. It is exhausting to keep a clean home and organize your belongings, so one more thing can push a woman to the emotional cliff. However, recognizing that you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD is the first step towards recovery.

Various symptoms of ADHD may resemble other mental health disorders or behavioral problems. In order to accurately diagnose ADHD, it’s important to find a medical provider with experience in adult ADHD patients. However, you should always seek medical advice from a healthcare provider who has experience in treating this disorder. This way, he or she can provide you with the most appropriate care. If your child’s symptoms do not seem to match the symptoms listed in your doctor’s office, you may have a different health condition.

Types of ADHD

There are several different types of ADHD. Most cases of ADHD are categorized as inattentive or hyperactive-hyperactive. Individuals with hyperactive-hyperactive ADHD often have difficulty concentrating and are constantly distracted. They also have a difficult time inhibiting their impulses and are often chatty and impulsive. While these symptoms are common in children with ADHD, they can be a sign of more serious conditions.

The DSM-V lists three types of ADHD. These are: inattentive, hyperactive, and combination. Each type has different symptoms and treatments. Inattentive ADHD is the most common form, while the other two are less common. This type is also more common in boys and adult men. Children with this type of ADHD often fidget or show restlessness. While it may not be the most common form, it is still the most severe.

Both the inattentive and hyperactive types of ADHD are difficult to treat. Adults with inattentive ADHD struggle to pay bills, return phone messages, or send birthday cards. They may appear rude, but they are not always intentional. People with a combined type of ADHD may display symptoms of both types, which includes the characteristics of both types. They may even recall problems they experienced as children, resulting in their diagnosis. The combined type of ADHD has six key daily characteristics.

Causes of ADHD

In order to answer the question, “What Causes ADHD?”, we need to look at the function and value of this disorder. We recognize that this disorder has many uses in different contexts. The positive science-society feedback loop involves facts and values. The standard conception of ADHD is based on tautological reasoning and the causal-explanatory role of the genome and brain. But it also implicates issues in metaphysics and reconstructive explanation. This is not to say that there is no need for the standard conception of ADHD.

The main causes of ADHD are genetic, although environmental factors may exacerbate the symptoms. Fortunately, ADHD does not need to be debilitating. Effective treatment for children with ADHD can be achieved with medication, behavior modification, and cognitive therapy. Some practitioners, however, have gotten it wrong, misdiagnosing and under-prescribing ADHD. Further research needs to be done on medication interactions with different age groups. This information is not meant to replace medical care or advice.

In addition to genetic and biological factors, environmental toxins and health of the gestational parent may play a role in ADHD. Among these risks are poor nutrition and infections. Also, smoking during pregnancy can affect the risk of ADHD. While the study could not determine whether smoking causes ADHD, it did show a relationship between heavy smoking and the development of the disorder. It cannot be conclusive, however. So, what are the causes of ADHD?

How is ADHD Diagnosed?

How is ADHD diagnosed? will differ for different children and their families. Some are relieved to find a definitive answer to their child’s behavioral challenges. Others may feel they’ve been wrongfully labeled, and may even doubt that their child has ADHD at all. Some children may have a milder version of ADHD, making a correct diagnosis more challenging. In either case, the diagnostic process usually consists of multiple appointments with a healthcare provider and in-depth conversations about your child’s behavior and activities.

Treatment for ADHD involves a combination of educational, psychosocial, and behavioral strategies. Many children can benefit from a combination of strategies. These therapies may include behavioral modifications, accommodations at school, and digital therapeutic devices. The treatment will be customized to your child’s specific needs. Your child can opt to participate in some or all of these strategies or simply opt out entirely. In addition to medications, your child can also learn self-management skills through self-management training at school or online.

During the process, your child’s GP will interview you about your child’s behaviour, how symptoms developed, and how they have affected their life. In addition to the symptoms you describe, a doctor may also ask about your child’s schoolwork and family history. The answers to these questions will help him or her to decide whether your child is indeed suffering from ADHD. Your child’s parents, teachers, or coaches may also provide crucial clues as to why your child is showing signs of ADHD.

Treatsments for ADHD

The most common treatments for ADHD are medications. Although they can be helpful, these medications have side effects and don’t address family relationships and academic performance. Some families choose to try nonpharmacological methods. These nontraditional therapies may not be covered by health insurance. There are other options, though. For example, alternative medicine may be more appropriate for some children with ADHD. Some people may also find these methods helpful. But what should you know before you begin any type of treatment?

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for ADHD involves teaching specific skills for managing behavior and changing negative thought patterns. The benefits of this treatment include improving self-esteem, communication skills, and organizational skills. CBT may be an excellent option for someone who suffers from ADHD, especially if they have trouble managing stress. It also helps people with mental health issues and substance abuse. In addition, cognitive behavioral therapy can help improve relationships. Some people find it useful for themselves and their family members.

Behavioral therapy for ADHD is an effective method for children with ADHD. It is a discipline technique aimed at helping children develop new behaviors by rewarding desired behaviors and eliminating undesirable ones. According to the American Psychological Association, behavioral therapy for ADHD is recommended for young children under five. However, it is effective for older children as well. Behavior therapy also provides relief from symptoms that can be extremely frustrating and distracting for families. Parents should work closely with their child’s pediatrician to decide which of these treatments is best for their child.

ADHD in Adults

In order to determine if you have ADHD in adulthood, you must have experienced symptoms since early childhood. Your symptoms must have impacted your daily functioning in a significant way. You will be evaluated with screening tasks that measure attention, distractibility, short-term memory, and other factors. You may also be tested for other psychiatric disorders or substance abuse. These tests can be very helpful in determining if you may have ADHD.

Many adults with ADHD go undiagnosed until their symptoms are significant. Without proper treatment, they may struggle with focusing, being late, and following social situations. Their relationships may suffer as a result, as they can be more difficult to manage. However, it is possible to identify your strengths and develop a plan to manage these symptoms. It is important to get a proper diagnosis and treatment at the earliest. If you suspect you have ADHD in adulthood, you should consult your doctor immediately.

A doctor may not diagnose ADHD in adults based on laboratory tests. Instead, he or she will evaluate the individual’s medical history, developmental history, behaviors, and interactions with others. Females often experience different symptoms than males do. Because they do not display typical symptoms, a doctor may miss them at first. However, if you think you might have ADHD, there are many ways to manage the symptoms and live a more fulfilling life.

ADHD Medication

There are two types of ADHD medication, both of which are stimulants. Short-acting stimulants will peak in the body within a few hours of taking them. Long-acting stimulants will last eight to twelve hours and are taken only once a day. Although the former is less likely to have unpleasant side effects, long-acting stimulants can increase the risk of gastrointestinal distress and increase heart rate and blood pressure.

Some of the medications for ADHD work by altering neurotransmitters, which facilitate the transmission of messages to the brain. For instance, dopamine can affect the symptoms of attention, while norepinephrine affects behavioral behavior. But practitioners cannot know which medication will work best for a particular patient. Therefore, a medication trial is often conducted, starting with a low dose and gradually increasing the dosage over time.

Another type of medication is ADHD counseling, which involves psychological counseling, education about the disorder, and learning skills to be successful in life. Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on teaching specific skills for managing behaviors and changing negative thinking patterns. Other types of therapy include addressing other mental health issues or dealing with life’s challenges. Marital and family counseling may help loved ones cope with the stress of an ADHD diagnosis. The same techniques can improve communication in families.

For safe and gentle methods of ADHD treatment, homeopathic medicine for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) is a popular choice worldwide. It has been proven to increase child development and behavior skills. For a complete well-being, homeopathic treatment considers the child’s psychological, emotional, and physical symptoms.

I was diagnosed when I was 12, so I don’t have the experience of being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult — but ADHD coach Brett Thornhill does! My channel now has more viewers (and hearts) I wanted to create an episode that would help people understand the process and the emotional journey. This episode features Brett Thornhill sharing his personal experience. I try to keep out of his way.
