Here is The ADHD Test! A lot of the time I get similar questions from you guys wondering what ADHD symptoms are and wondering if you have ADHD. While i'm no doctor, I decided I would put together a quiz that will help you in defining whether or not you should go to see a doctor about ADHD!
This test is not a definitive diagnosis and shouldn't be taken as one but these are genuine symptoms of ADHD and will help you in figuring out if you should go to have a real diagnosis from a doctor.

Dr. Scott explains that EKG's are not needed for children who are starting to use ADHD medication.

William A. Scott, MD FHRS FACC FAAP: EKGs are not necessary for children who are about to begin medication for ADHD. Concern arose in the past related to voluntary reporting of incidents in children who had unrecognized heart disease.

In general, most children can take these medications quite safely without any concern. If the family has a prior history of congenital heart disease, a premature heart disease, or a significant arrhythmias, or the child themselves has a history of heart disease, an evaluation is indicated prior to beginning these medications.

There has been great debate about the need for the screening tests in children. Consequently large organizations such as American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics have come out with consensus recommendations where experts, physicians reviewed all the available data and determined that the EKG was not indicated for most patients beginning these medications.

Assisted Living Community Placement | Always Best Care

featured image

http://www.alwaysbestcare.com
Many families across the United States rely on senior housing options to provide critical care for their senior loved one. Some of the more common kinds of senior housing include Dementia and Alzheimer’s care homes, residential care homes, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities.

For those who need help with daily activities, but who wish to remain independent as they age, an assisted living community may be the right fit. These communities are often described as bridging the gap between nursing homes and living independently.
While residents of assisted living communities are not able to live completely on their own, they do not need constant care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They may be dealing with diseases, memory disorders, mobility issues or incontinence challenges, but do not require advanced medical care, which is limited in assisted living communities.

The most common size of assisted living communities ranges between 25 to 120 residents, but can have upwards of 300. Each assisted living community offers varying levels of care at different rates.

Some factors that affect costs include:
* Location of Community
* Apartment Size
* Services Needed
* Type of Community

Free Assisted Living Placement Services from Always Best Care

All of the senior housing and assisted living placement services from Always Best Care are 100% free of charge for our clients, as fees will be paid by the community that you choose for yourself or for the senior in your life. A staff member from the Always Best Care Franchise owner in your community will escort you or your loved one on a tour of the facility of your choice. Lecrae Interview: Overcoming Clinical Depression, Substance Abuse, "Restoration" + More| Ep. 3

featured image

Christian Rapper Lecrae virtually stopped by to talk about his album, “Restoration,” his book “I Am Restored, How I Lost My Religion, but Gained My Faith,” and ultimately what inspired the two. The Houston native opened up about overcoming his battle with clinical depression, substance abuse, and gave really good advice on how God, therapy, and journaling saved his life. Lecrae also spoke about mental health and good practices to make sure he is healthy. He also gave great advice to encourage people who currently have a close friend or family member struggling with their mental health and unsure of how to help. Lecrae also dished on “Coming in Hot” going viral three years after its release, giving back to the city of Atlanta, collaborating with secular artists, getting pushback from the Christian community, and he even participated in my rapid-fire segment, ‘5 Questions Nobody Ever Asks.” Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

These are the top 5 best prescription weight loss medications on the market. These weight loss meds actually work and I've personally used them on many patients with success.

I've been helping people lose weight for a long time and over the years I've been able to test many different weight loss medications. I've found that while there are many prescription weight loss medications available, only a handful actually work very well.

In this video, I will walk you through the top 5 best prescription weight loss medications available on the market, which ones I prefer to use, what you can expect while using them, how they work, and more.

Before you jump in, make sure you understand that while prescription weight loss medications can be very effective, you should never just use them by themselves. If you are serious about weight loss you should combine these weight loss medications with other changes such as adjusting your diet, reducing your stress, exercising daily, and balancing your other hormones.

If your plan is to jump on one of these medications and lose a bunch of weight, it's probably not going to happen!

But these medications can be very effective if used correctly and if combined with a healthy lifestyle.

The top 5 best prescription medications for weight loss include:

#1. Saxenda/Victoza
Saxenda is FDA approved for weight loss and is probably the single most effective medication on this list.

#2. Invokana/Farxiga
Invokana and Farxiga are not FDA approved for weight loss but they can help. They work by helping your body eliminate or pee out sugar from your kidneys.

#3. Naltrexone
Naltrexone is a part of one FDA approved weight loss medication known as Contrave. Naltrexone is not as effective as the others but it is very safe.

#4. Metformin
Metformin is commonly used to treat diabetes but it does have some weight loss benefits. Don't expect much from metformin though because many people are already taking it.

#5. Phentermine
Phentermine helps with weight loss by reducing your appetite and increasing up your metabolism. It only works if it is used correctly, however, so don't just jump on it without understanding how to use it.

*CORRECTION NOTICEAt 1: 15 I noted that in 1960 it was reported a racemic mixture of amphetamine could be used to control ADHD symptoms. However, I stated that it was approved by FDA for treatment of ADHD in 1996.. The treatment of ADHD in 1996. was approved by the FDA. However, it was approved in a 3:1 ratio between the d- and l-isomers (as I explain at 3 15 in this video), and not the racemic mixture in the 1960 research.

O'Neill is like most parents struggling to teach their kids at home during the pandemic. What she didn't know at first is some of the frustration came from an underlying condition in her youngest daughter.

"You can just tell, the wheels are constantly, the wheels are turning, the ideas are coming in her brain and it’s taking her away from school work," explains O'Neill.

It turns out, O'Neill's daughter has ADHD and experts say the pandemic has magnified symptoms.

There are oodles of research on ADHD in young people. There is little research about ADHD in adults. Dr. Kimbery Quinn helps us understand ADHD's effects on adults. She also explains the difficulties they may face in their relationships and lives. There are ways we can help reframe this condition and support people with it. Dr. Kimberly Quinn is a Champlain College professor in Burlington, Vermont. She teaches cognitive psychology and positive psychology. She is also a workshop facilitator and speaks frequently on topics such as positive psychology, well being, trauma-informed teaching, mindfulness training, and mindfulness training for students and faculty, human services agencies, business organizations, and schools. Recent research focuses on the impact of social media on college students' well-being.

Kimberly was a family and child therapist who specialized in ADHD. She stated that ADHD is a misnomer. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder should be ASHD (Attention Surplus high-energy Difference). ADHD can also be a gift due to one's increased ability for divergent thinking – creativity and innovation.
