ADHD is often left undiagnosed in women and girls for a multitude of reasons, both social and scientific. Many people still believe ADHD is a problem that affects only boys. Julia Hearne shares her story and discusses how reducing stigma surrounding ADHD can increase the number of girls diagnosed and treated. Julia Hearne, a New Jersey high school senior, is an example of what it means to be a high school senior. She is passionate about eliminating stigma surrounding mental health. She hopes to spread her message in the hope that it will encourage conversations about neurodiversity. This talk was delivered at a TEDx event that used the TED conference format, but was organized locally by a community. Find out more at x
