A medicine widely used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder also provides long-term relief from the attention and behavior changes that affect many childhood cancer survivors, according to a trial led by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Researchers reported that one year after starting the drug methylphenidate, young cancer survivors scored better on tests of sustained attention and other measures of attention, social skills and behavior than did a similar group of unmedicated survivors. Heather Conklin, Ph.D., of the St. Jude Psychology department, is the first author of the research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Could your snacking or binge eating be a medical disease? In this video, we're going to find out.
The newest eating disorder is called Binge Eating Disorder or (B.E.D).
Signs of a binge eating disorder:
• Excessive eating at least 1 time a week for 3 months
• Eating every 2 hours
• Eating more rapidly
• Eating until uncomfortable
• Eating alone
• Feeling guilty after eating
• Being on a fad diet where you cut out food groups
• Engaging in sporadic fasting and binging
There is a drug for a binge eating disorder called Vyvanse. This is a new application of an old drug that has been used for other things. It's the only FDA approved solution for this disease.
Side effects of a Vyvanse:
• Sudden cardiac death
• Stroke
• Significant high blood pressure
• Psychosis
• High rate of abuse
• Seeing and hearing things
I am definitely not promoting Vyvanse as the solution to this disease. It's my opinion that snacking and binge eating is not a medical disease. I think it's a normal thing that a lot of people go through, and if they just did healthy keto combined with intermittent fasting, their need for snacks would go down.

#Caffeine and ADHD: How Do Caffeinated Drinks Affect #ADHD
The most common treatment for ADHD is stimulant therapy. These drugs can improve your focus and attention span and help control impulsive behavior.
The most widely used stimulant, and the most popular drug in the world, is caffeine. It's in coffee, tea, chocolate, soda, and other foods.
A few studies have looked at how caffeine can affect ADHD symptoms, but the results have been mixed. Even though caffeine is a stimulant, it's not generally recommended as a treatment for ADHD because it hasn't proved to be as effective as prescription medications.
How It Works
Stimulants, including caffeine, raise the amount of specific chemicals that your brain uses to send signals. One of these is dopamine. It's linked to pleasure, attention, and movement.
When you have ADHD, doctors often prescribe stimulants to help you feel more calm and focused. Some researchers believe that because studies show the caffeine in tea can improve alertness and concentration, it might work for ADHD, too.
Some scientists think caffeine has potential as an ADHD treatment because of its effect on dopamine levels, which improved memory and attention in rats. In another study, when hyperactive rats were given caffeine before they went through a maze, they got better at it. This suggests caffeine can improve spatial learning. While these studies are interesting, rats aren't people.
