322 | A World Without ADHD With Kirsten Milliken

Boredom is the mother of creativity. Eric and Dr. Kirsten Milliken, your host, discuss ways to keep your children and yourself busy with social distancing and having fun at the grocery shop.

Dr. Milliken, a licensed clinical psychologist and ADHD coach, is the author of PLAYDHD. Permission to play…A prescription for adults with ADHD. With her two children and Perry, she lives in Portland, Maine. She is a sufferer of ADHD. She often jokes and says half-seriously that if it’s not enjoyable, it’s probably not worth doing. Kirsten is a psychologist and coach who focuses on teaching her clients the importance of play in all its forms.

Eric and Kirsten talk about the World Without ADHD project, the reasons it is important to her, and the book that she is writing. Kirsten talks about how she feels guilty about making money while others are in crisis. She also mentions that her partner is renovating an old RV to keep busy during the pandemic.

Eric and Kirsten discuss their favourite board games and arcade games. Kristen talks about her inflatable pink unicorn costume she wore to the grocery store for PPE, and the reactions she receives. If you want to participate in the World Without ADHD project, please submit artwork, written word, or stories to www.worldwithoutadhd.com, and if they like it, we will showcase it in the book and online. Kirsten says to use your boredom to get creative and submit your entries before the July 1, 2020 deadline.
