MY MISSION
To raise awareness about non-hyperactive ADHD (what I call "Hidden ADHD") to help others who are struggling with it. I want them to know what they can do about it. I want them to know that they're not lazy, unmotivated, and willfully irresponsible. I want them to know they can realize their potential and create the life of their dreams.

What is it like to take stimulant medication? What was the first day like? Well, it was both amazing and terrible.
Medication truly helps millions of people all over the world. When it works it can really help. Medications don’t work for everyone. After taking stimulants for several weeks the effects feel less extreme and it becomes the person’s new norm.
I would still be on stimulants if it did not aggravate another medical issue I have. What medication I take will be Story Time video in a future date.

When a child has been diagnosed with ADHD, the first course of treatment is to try to change some of the challenging or functionally impairing behaviors for the child. Some of these behaviors include the child drifting off and not paying attention, or maybe a child that can't sit still long enough to focus on homework or on classroom assignments. It's really important to have the intervention of parents, teachers and the whole school team on board to help modify some of these behaviors.
For instance, a teacher might help the child learn how to self-monitor their own actions and provide a little incentive plan to help a child remember not to interrupt, but to raise their hand. It's important to recognize that a lot of the behaviors, or the more negative behaviors of ADHD, can be modified and shaped. And the child can learn to control them. Working with a good health care professional, a child psychologist, or a social worker can definitely help parents come up with an individualized behavior treatment plan to help their child's ADHD symptoms. So these are just some of the behavioral strategies that can be used in decreasing ADHD symptoms.
What is it like to take stimulant medication? How was your first day of taking stimulant medication? It was both incredible and horrible.
Millions of people around the globe benefit from medication. It can be very helpful when it works. Some people don’t respond to medication. The effects of stimulants become less severe after a few weeks.
If it didn’t aggravate any other medical condition, I would continue to take stimulants. Story Time video will be the medication I’ll take in the future.
