A child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has a unique brain. A child with ADHD can have difficulty focusing in school, may be disorganized, or get poor grades. But, outside of the classroom, they are imaginative, spontaneous, and full of positive energy. Nawras Shukair MD said, “Think of it as a child with ADHD who has a racing car for their brain and the brakes on a bicycle.” “So their brain can’t do what they need to and their ability regulate it,” Dr. Shukair explains in this episode of Health Watch.
