This webinar explains the nature of anxiety as well as various ways to manage it. Dr. Roemer gives an overview of mindfulness and the many ways it can be used. She also explains how mindfulness can benefit those suffering from anxiety. Dr. Lizabeth R. Roemer is Professor and Chair in the Department of Psychology, University of Massachusetts Boston. She is involved in clinical training and research for doctoral students in clinical psychology. Dr. Roemer is the author of four books and has published journal chapters, book chapters, and over journal article. Dr. Roemer developed an acceptance-based behavioral treatment for generalized anxiety disorder in collaboration with Dr. Susan Orsillo. The National Institute of Mental Health funded studies that examined the effectiveness of this treatment.
