"Everything in life is a gift. It’s a powerful moment when you’re broken and finally realize that the striving goes away, you don’t do stuff for recognition, you do things because you’re recognized by Him." //Brian Johnson shares about his battle in overcoming anxiety at a service at Bethel Church, Redding.

Recognizing ADHD in Adults | Heather Brannon | TEDxHeritageGreen

Many people feel badly about themselves and have no idea why. They just aren’t interested in opening their mail or picking up their clothes from the floor. They feel ashamed because they believe the people around them who say they’re lazy, have a serious character flaw, or—at best—are quirky. They don’t realize that adult ADHD doesn’t look like ADHD in kids, and remaining undiagnosed can make them feel anxious, overwhelmed, and powerless.

Speaker Heather Brannon, MD, draws on 14 years of experience treating adult ADHD. A family physician who has been practicing for nearly 30 years, she realized that many patients who felt overwhelmed, anxious, easily frustrated, and tired actually had ADHD and that diagnosing it correctly and treating it was life-changing for those patients. She decided in 2014 to devote her entire practice to adolescents and adults with ADHD.

Why do I find moving so stressful? There are as many reasons as there are boxes I've yet to pack. Deadlines, cost, what to toss, notifying everyone... But we've moved before. In fact, at one point we spent five Christmases in a row in different houses. (Renting is fun isn't it?!)

So with all that experience there's still one big challenge that I find exhausting. Once everything is moved in and stored in its right place, I have to figure out where that 'right place' is. Here? No. Here? No...

Fears are common and expected in childhood; however, for some children and teens, their fears can become very severe over time, and even develop into a phobia. A phobia is an intense and unreasonable fear of a specific object or situation. This causes an extreme anxiety response towards something that is not causing immediate danger.
