I do not suffer from panic attacks.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who sent me emails describing their anxiety disorders. I wouldn’t have written this without your help.
Most videos on youtube are about “anxiety” which (scientifically speaking) is pretty inaccurate. There are a couple of different anxiety disorders: panic attacks, agoraphobia, social anxiety, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder. All of these differ and I think each deserves a separate video, not a messy mash-up.
And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
If you think you’re experiencing panic attacks, you might want to watch Zoella’s videos, she gives some really good advice on how to cope with those: /> /> INSTA: a

Children can feel anxious and insecure when they are separated from their parents or important caregivers. Most children will become more confident as they get older, so separation anxiety usually goes away. If separation anxiety persists after five years of age and begins to affect your child’s life, such as when he or she is unable to see their parent. If your child refuses to go out of sight of a parent, then Separation Anxiety Disorder may be a possibility. This is when separation anxiety is excessive and a child is unable to leave home or from a loved one (such a parent or caregiver). You can read more …

I want to thank everyone who wrote me emails about their anxiety disorders. Without your support, I couldn’t have created this.
Many videos on YouTube are about anxiety, which is a very misleading term. There are several anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, agoraphobias, social anxiety and specific phobias. Each of these disorders is different and each one deserves its own video.
That’s exactly what I plan to do.

Ever felt like school wasn't built for your brain? To be 1 in 3 kids with ADHD, means there's a lot of us that need a better education. John German talks about ADHD and what it is like to have it in a demanding society with such a death grip on performance in the class room.
John is a senior at Valencia High school. He has been in two plays, his first being The Diary of Anne Frank where he played the sullen dentist, Mr. Dussel and his second being Twelfth Night as a holy Priest and a shabby Captain. He has directed two DTASC (a drama competition) scenes both of them making it to finals and is currently working on his third scene. He worked backstage as a spotlight on last year’s spring musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He is a thespian and has a true passion for the theatrical arts, both on stage and behind the scenes. He also enjoys drawing and painting as a small hobby for when he is stressed. This isn't his first nor last time on stage but he is hoping to give you a ted talk to change the way you view something very near and dear to him. He is grateful of all the love and support his family, friends, and girlfriend have given him. He really hopes you are excited and enjoy this TEDx event.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at x
