Are you feeling exhausted?
Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Do you feel like there’s so many things that you should be doing in life but you never have time to get to them?
Do you feel like there are things that you know you could be doing, but you’re not because you don’t know where the time goes in your day?
Do you get to that point in your day where it feels almost impossible to make just one more decision?
Well, odds are you are suffering from Daily Decision Fatigue – DDF. This isn’t really something that people talk about, and it’s not your fault because society’s addiction to social media, entertainment, and electronics has actually made this issue significantly worse.
Let me explain: Back in ancient times, our cave-people ancestors had to make life-or-death decisions every moment of every day. They weren’t just sitting around looking at rocks tablets trying to decide what outfit to wear tomorrow, they were actively dodging the sabertooth tiger that was determined to make a meal out of them.
However, modern society has made us comfortable, relaxed and secure, giving our lizard brain a break from those survival decisions, but it has also made us insanely over stimulated. This over stimulation leads to overwhelm, agitation, anxiety, and most importantly frustration with all the lost time because all of the information constantly being thrown at us requires us to stay in constant decision making mode.
When our brains get overwhelmed and overloaded with all of this information they start to slow down and shut down, and suddenly something as seemingly simple as figuring out what to make for dinner feels absolutely impossible!! In the same way that our computer’s slow down and practically demand a reset when all of its active memory is in use, we are struggling to maintain this constant influx of data.
That’s what we call Daily Decision Fatigue – DDF. Modern society has conditioned you to spend too much time, energy and effort focusing on things that don’t ultimately matter. You have a limited capacity for managing all of this info and making decisions related to it, so when you allow your attention to be seized by things that don’t serve you and don’t add value to your life, you are certain to feel the effects of DDF.
If you’ve been struggling to find time to get important things done and work on building the life that you want, if you’ve been wondering why all of your energy is seemingly drained at the end of the day and you can barely even find the willpower to decide which streaming service to watch for the evening, then you are suffering from DDF.
Chances are, you don’t even know this is happening and remember, it’s not your fault! The good news is there are workarounds and tools to help you manage all of this. In fact, I’ve got a perfect solution to help put you on the right path to making decisions confidently and efficiently.
Did you know that on average it takes 10 minutes to make an everyday decision? Even just taking a quick inventory of the decisions you make in a day (what to wear, what to make for dinner, when to schedule your next dentist appointment, what to pack for lunch tomorrow, what movie to watch, etc etc etc) that all adds up quickly!
If it takes you 10 minutes to decide what task to do next, 6 minutes to decide what move to go to with your friend, 12 minutes to decide what entree to order on the menu, and so on, just imagine what your life would be like if you could recapture that time. What more could you accomplish? How much more joy and fun could you invite into your routine? How much more rest could you get? How many more opportunities could you find to move your body or take a few minutes to do some breath work?
Think about all of the time you could get back to do the things you’ve been craving, give yourself the care that you deserve, spend quality time with the people you love most, and everything else that you never seem to have enough time and energy for but truly want to do.
Here’s the dirty little secret about the DDF, Daily Decision Fatigue, we all only have 24 hours in a day and if DDF is robbing you of your hours, minutes and seconds, that is time that you will never get back, that you will never be able to spend the way that you want to. It’s robbing you of your ability to live life on your terms.
If you are ready to start living, if you are ready to stop procrastinating, stop suffering in the fog of DDF, then I have the answer to help you find and reclaim that time and energy for yourself, and ultimately take total control of your life right here, right now.
