Due to the majority of women having the inattentive form of ADHD, they can also have other problems. Some of these can include difficulty Staying focused Keeping organized Listening to others without interrupting Staying on track Remembering details Keeping track of schedules and times

ADHD had three major symptoms that all other symptoms fall under, inattentiveness and hyperactivity or impulsivity.. Most women have inattentive symptoms rather then hyperactive and impulsive symptoms.

Some of the other symptoms that affect women that fall under the wide umbrella of ADHD symptoms are: internalizing symptoms, emotional dysregulation, late adolescent-onset, low self-esteem, eating irregularities, chronic anxiety, chronic relationship issues, substance behaviors, and perfectionist behaviors,

The list goes on to include even more symptoms, including:

sensory hypersensitivities, chronic restlessness, episodes of rage or tears, frequent irritability, and picking behaviors.

The majority of women (and girls) suffer from the inattentive form of ADHD.

A young girl with inattentive symptoms of ADHD is often simply waved off and told she has character flaws or unwanted personality traits instead of any real medical condition. If or when she is seen by a medical professional, she is normally given the diagnosis of either depression or anxiety instead of ADHD- which is often saved for boys alone.

ADHD was originally believed to only be found in young boys.

Because for most of history ADHD has been widely known as a disorder more common in young, school-aged hyper and overactive boys, “spacey” and “Chatty Cathy” girls tend to fall by the wayside. But what happens when she grows up? What happens if her ADHD is not diagnosed until adulthood?

This book explains why exactly so many girls and women go undiagnosed.

It also talks about what roles our hormones play, at what times of the month, and what roles estrogen and menopause play as well. It talks about emotional withdrawal, what exactly it is, why so many women fall back on this, and how it can be so detrimental to your well-being.

This wouldn’t be a proper book for women if we didn’t also discuss what it is like to be a mother with ADHD, especially if your children also have ADHD.

we will discuss the dangers of being diagnosed at an older age, and the many ways ADHD can put a tamper or a strain on your relationships and how you can prevent this, as well as the impact on your physical health, food and nutrition has on managing your symptoms.
