Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a type psychiatric disorder. Most commonly, it affects children. Sometimes, symptoms can disappear over time. This disorder can persist into adulthood, and is also known as adult ADHD.
ADHD in adults is often left undiagnosed because of a lack of awareness
Adults with ADHD have two main symptoms: inattention and impulsivity. Adult ADHD is not usually associated with hyperactivity, which is a part of ADHD in children.
Adult ADHD diagnosis can be difficult as symptoms may overlap with anxiety disorders or depressive disorders. The questionnaires and diagnostic tests can also be used to diagnose ADHD in adults.
