Marc-Andre Leclerc was a skilled rock climber and alpinist who died at age 25 in the mountains of Alaska. Marc-Andre Leclerc is the subject of “The Alpinist”, a Netflix documentary. Marc-Andre was diagnosed as having ADHD and written expression disorder when he was a child. He found a way to express his intense focus and hyperfocus through climbing. His achievements were extraordinary.

Marc-Andre was homeschooled by Michelle Kuipers, his mother. She helped him to control his ADHD. Michelle is on the show to discuss her son and her parenting approach for ADHD children. She shares with us how Marc-Andre would be much more anxious about renewing his passport than climbing mountains without ropes and alone.

Listen to Michelle describe Marc-Andre’s generous and loving spirit, and how she hopes her son will be remembered.
